Ceramics and Ceramic art
Maria's ceramic art is known for its vibrant glazes in both high and low fire sculptures as well as the variety and depth of the subjects that range from nature to ethnic and narrative. Also included are references to poetry, primitive cultures and literature. Her works recall to mind European, Asian, medieval and Mexican folk art ceramics, but her vision is uniquely her own. Drawing from her Latin American and Russian universal unconscious, the works created for private and corporate art collections depict images inspired by Maria's unique ability to to incorporate many myths and personal beliefs into new mythical interpretations.
